Introduction to Gourd Art

$60, includes gourd and all tools and materials
This class will take you from a raw dirty gourd from the field, all the way to a finished piece of art.
We will start by washing a gourd, cutting the top, scraping the inside to clean it. Dyes and inks will be applied to achieve color. The student will have a choice of finishing the top of the gourd with basketry techniques or the natural rim. Embellishment will be offered also.
Burning onto the gourd will be introduced.
Native American Inspired Introduction to Gourd Art — $65
All material included (6 person minimum enrollment)

Gourd Ornaments — $45
All material included (6 person minimum enrollment)
Wednesday December 4 from 6 to 8 PM
Come and make a handmade ornament for your tree. You will have a choice of three different designs, or come with you own in mind. Burning onto the gourd will be introduced. All materials and tools will be provided. If you have burning tools, you are welcome to bring them.
