I am starting to teach classes through the

Human Rights Institute in Coeur d'Alene. Here is the description for the first one in November

Native American Inspired Introduction to Gourd Art  

$65  -- All material included (6 person minimum enrollment)

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 24 FROM 12:30—6:30 PM

This class will take you from a raw dirty gourd from the field, all the way to a finished piece of art. We will start by washing a gourd, cutting the top, scraping the inside to clean it. Dyes and inks will be applied to achieve color. The student will have a choice of finishing the top of the gourd with basketry techniques or the natural rim. Embellishment will be offered also. Burning onto the gourd will be introduced.
